It’s a been a while since I had a Bowser quilt update. I’ve finally hit a milestone and can’t wait to show it off!
Phew! He’s massive! That’s a loveseat under there! So, what’s the mile stone? I’ve come up with a method of putting the rows together that gives me the opportunity to make corrections as the rows go together. There’s a bit of self correcting in there too. There’ s a row that is in there very skewed, bet you can’t see it because the next bank of straight rows hid it nicely. Because of the way they go together -this is the first time I’ve had all the finished rows sewn together.
I’m putting them together in 3’s – Remember a LONG time ago, I showed you how I built the banks of 5. I put those together until I have three full rows of 5 high pixels. Remember – these pixels finish at 1″ square so these rows are pretty small.
After I finished the first bank of three, I put it away and went to work on the next bank.
When the second set of three was complete, I put them together with the first set of three and went to work on yet another set of three! (Ack! I miscounted the graphic – you get the idea right?)
Now I have three big threes which means I can put them all together! The last set isn’t going to be divisible by 3. I’ll keep working in as close to threes as possible until I have to make a decision on those last few rows.
I keep trying to tell myself that the last third is going to be easy peasy compared to the first sets. I think I might be telling myself a big old lie! I’m looking forward to it none the less. Do you have any massive projects like this one hanging around?
